Tips for your Wedding Day Starting to plan the Day
Discuss and decide on the type of reception and the guest numbers. Choose some provisional dates. A larger number of guests may limit the possible venues so book early to avoid disappointment.
Choose your Chief Bridesmaid, Bridesmaids, Best Man, etc.
Review possible venues, and visit one or two to focus your ideas.
The best venues will offer the services of your own personal Wedding Co-ordinator (this is a free service from the Hazel Hotel). Use their advice because they are the professionals and they will make sure everything goes right on this important day.
Decide on the type of band you require, seek advice from people who have actually heard them, and make a booking (this may require a deposit).
Book wedding cars for the day.
Book wedding photographer. Your Wedding Co-ordinator will know local photographers with a proven and reliable record - essential for this important day.
Organise printing of Invitations, Orders of Service etc. Your Wedding Co-ordinator will know local printers who specialise in wedding stationery to achieve the best style.
Planning well before the Day
Decide on the Order of Running for the Wedding Reception - who does what, where and when. The Wedding Brochure available from the Hazel Hotel has extremely good advice for the Perfect Wedding Reception and the Top Table seating plan.
When decorating the church and reception area, choose flowers that are in season and take pride in their presentation.
Select menu for Wedding Reception. The Hotel will have a good range of possibilities for which to select. The Hazel Hotel Wedding brochure has 6 suggested menus to consider.
If you have invited a lot of children, seat them at one table with a children's menu, baby sitter and things to keep them amused and occupied.
You could choose a wedding cake that can double up as dessert.
Choose your evening and going away clothes.
Comfortable shoes for this important day are a must. New shoes can be a disaster. You could have your favourite shoes covered in a fabric to match your dress.
Organise any guest accommodation. The Hazel Hotel offers special rates for family and friends.
